Role & Responsibilities
While no two days would look the same, these are the core parts of your job.
You’re a stickler for grammar rules.
- You need to be aware of your punctuation rules not just for grammar, but how they can play a role visually as well.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that all written communication produced by our team adheres to the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.
‘Research’ is a word that must tickle your fancy.
- You should be abreast of current events and what’s happening in the world. The more you know, the better your writing will be
- You will be analyzing competitors’ marketing strategies and stay up-to-date with the latest trends to craft copy that speaks to your audience
Quality control
- As a superb writer, with an eye for visual design, it’ll be your job to ensure the quality of the text, design, and video deliverables we make – in the first few months of onboarding new clients.
- Again, this means you’ll have to work with different teams to ensure that the standards are set high in the first few months and are easy to replicate for other teams once you move on to your next project.
Setting the tonality
- When you have multiple brands from the same sector/industry on your roster, like we often do at Scatter, it’s your responsibility to ensure that no two brands sound alike. For example, Nike’s communication focuses on inspiring and motivating its customers, whereas Adidas emphasizes the technology and innovation behind its products.
- For this, you will create Style Sheets, be a part of and immersive Content Briefing calls with clients.
- It’s your job to help brands create a niche, in their choice of words and images, so that their consumers can connect with their unique branding and communication styles.
Ensuring adherence to strategy
- You will be the bridge between the Content Creation and the Strategy teams.
- This means you’ll have to work with different teams to ensure, at regular intervals, for different accounts, that the content we create is in line with the overall marketing goals the brand is looking to achieve.
Qualifications & Skills
- BA/MA English /Mass Comm preferred.
- Up to 2 years of prior experience in content writing for businesses/brands. If you’ve worked in an agency, this will be a bonus!
- Proven experience working on long-form content and strategies for brands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
